Description
Ford Airbag resistor for Non-Airbag seats.
This part is used for street cars that have been converted to race cars and use a racing seat. This resistor will turn off the airbag light as long as no other parts in the system have been disturbed. If you remove the steering wheel airbag or passenger airbag you will still have a light on. If you have replaced both seats you should buy two resistors. You should install the resistors at the same time as you install your race seats. Do not power the car on until the resistors and seats are installed. Some cars may require a recalibration of the SRS for passenger side if both seats are replaced.
For 2013-2014 Mustangs, there is a weight sensor pad in the passenger side seat. This tells the airbag at what speed to deploy given the passenger’s weight. If this sensor is not carried over, the airbag light will likely, not turn off. If the sensor does remain in the car, there is still a slight chance that the SRS system will require the sensor to be “re-zeroed”. If you do this, know that your passenger side airbag WILL NOT deploy in the event of a crash. You are deliberately tricking the SRS and telling the system that there is not passenger!
